Things I hope we’ll see at the Bethesda briefing

  • New Elder Scrolls Title Announced, Includes Local Co-op

When The Elder Scrolls Online was first announced, to me it seemed like misdirected good intentions. As much as the Elder Scrolls series emulates high fantasy medieval combat, an MMO that would be released in 2014 seemed to be an attempt to catch a genre trend well on its way to a decline. What I would like to see is Elder Scrolls VI announced with a local co-op option. Not only would it take the series to new places in terms of roleplaying, but would open up some unique RPG systems, as well. Even if it doesn’t include co-op, I’m hoping that we hear at least something non-MMO-related come out of the Elder Scrolls franchise.

  • Prey-2-like Spiritual Successor Teased (Or Just Prey 2)

It may not be under the development of Human Head Studios anymore, but what’s clear is that Bethesda still owns the rights to the Prey series. While the publishing company maintains that Prey 2 has finally been canceled, that doesn’t mean that crafting a new title after starting from scratch on a narrative or gameplay stance isn’t completely out of the question. Whatever it takes for consumers to get their hands on a game that follows the same tenets of a System Shock 2 would be extremely warranted and appreciated in this day and age.

  • Quake 5 Gets A Basic Logo Tease, Everyone Freaks Out

More from Features

Cliff Bleszinski and Boss Key Productions are infamously working on a new arena shooter based on what PC FPS gamers have come to know in the past, but that doesn’t mean that they’re the only ones allowed to do so. This is really emphasizing the “hope” part of this category, but I hope Bethesda would be looking into a new title in the Quake series using its fast, but loose twitch shooting mechanics. I know id Software is working on Doom right now, but with Raven Software developing Quake 4 it’s not like it’s completely out of order to Bethesda to go to a new developer.

So, there you have it. What do you hope to see out of Bethesda at E3 2015? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
