Here’s The First Full Ratchet & Clank Movie Trailer
If there was ever a video game series that could be adapted into a Hollywood film, Ratchet & Clank would appear to be the best bet. The type of humor it enjoys, the cartoonish nature of its stories and the characterization of the protagonists fits will into a computer generated film perfectly. With the release of their first full trailer, Blockade Entertainment look to make a strong argument with Ratchet & Clank, bringing a star-studded cast along with them.

The trailer plays with the standard movie tropes, criticizing their rote openings like “a man with a dream,” “a beautiful friendship,” and “unstoppable evil.” With Ratchet & Clank, each of these notions are dashed humorously, suggesting there’s more to this movie than humor by the numbers. James Arnold Taylor (Final Fantasy X, animated “Clone Wars” productions) returns as Ratchet, while David Kaye (Last Week Tonight, Need For Speed series announcer) returns as Clank. Finally, Jim Ward (Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, Biker Mice From Mars) represents the evil Captain Qwark once again.
Outside of the core cast, serious talent will voice prominent characters in Ratchet & Clank. Paul Giamatti is Chairman Drek, the leader of the Blarg, John Goodman is Grimroth, Ratchet’s mechanic mentor, Bella Thorne will be one of the Galactic Rangers, Rosario Dawson will be a support team member and Sylvester Stallone will be Victor Von Ion, a lieutenant to Chairman Drek.
