The Uncharted 4 Story Trailer Is Just Breathtakingly Beautiful

Behold the gorgeous cinematic set pieces PlayStation 4 owners will enjoy themselves once Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is released.

It feels like it’s been forever since its original announcement, but at the same time, we are so close to the release of Uncharted 4 that it’s quite surprising most of the game remains a mystery. We know Drake has a brother, we know that Elena is not happy Drake’s going back to that dangerous life, and we know that there will be minimal choice-based dialogue elements in the storytelling. As we inch closer to the launch date, Naughty Dog has finally released a story trailer, one that still remains vague on some of the important story beats.

“Destiny” seems to be the operative word in this Uncharted 4 trailer, with Drake’s brother claiming they were born to live this life. And a dangerous life it is, with a sizzle reel of nail-biting scenarios that see Drake ditch a Jeep barreling towards a waterfall, getting chased by an armored truck while driving a motorcycle, jumping through glass as armed goons take pot shots, escape a snowy location as assault rifle bullets rip at his escape plane, flipping over a burning Jeep and hanging over an immeasurable drop.

Per Naughty Dog standards, Nathan Drake and his adventures throughout the world look absolutely stunning in this Uncharted 4 trailer. While it probably won’t reach the photo-realism of the reveal trailer, the variety in settings offers the player a host of different visual art styles, which jump between dark caverns to sunny skies over aquamarine waters, and everything in between. People like to honor the new Tomb Raider series as the new definitive treasure-seeking gameplay experience, but Uncharted 4 looks to send Drake out on a very high note.

Uncharted 4 will be released exclusively for the PS4 on April 26th.
