New Madden 16 Video Has Too Many Celebrities To Count

We’re less than a week away from the release of Madden 16, and that means it’s time to get more wackiness in the form of an all-out, celebrity-filled promotional video. Arriving right on time is “Madden: The Movie,” featuring some of the best and brightest from the worlds of both the NFL and Hollywood.

Dave Franco (Blade Johnson) and Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Janet) must rescue Trish from an evil entity that wants to face Franco in a game of Madden 16. In order to achieve that, they need to call in a team of playmakers, including Antonio Brown as “Sticky Bun,” Rob Gronkowski as “Half Top,” Julio Jones as “Trick Montalban,” Red Ryan as “Little Pepper” and Colin Kaepernick as Al Pacino from “Scent of a Woman.” What follows next is a cornucopia of action, intrigue, romance, dinosaurs, explosions, a guy karate chopping a ninja for 20 straight seconds and, perhaps, a little bit of throwing around footballs.

Needless to say, every other sports game needs to step up their celebrity endorsement game if they want to compete with Madden 16. Yes, James Harden and Spike Lee are involved with promoting NBA 2K16, however 2K tends to go a bit too dramatic in their offerings. What’s the point of trying to win over basketball fans with dramatic trailers when NBA Live hasn’t come close yet to being a competitor? Might as well go silly and bring in a more casual audience, which is exactly what this “Madden: The Movie” trailer will likely do.

Madden NFL 16 will be released for the PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360 on August 25th.
