Make Friends And Influence People With Charisma In Fallout 4

Each week, Bethesda has released a new video in its series on S.P.E.C.I.A.L., their informative shorts on how stats work in the Fallout universe and particularly in their upcoming title, Fallout 4. This week’s stat is C for Charisma, and features Vault Boy getting into all sorts of trouble (as usual) as he attempts to utilize the stat correctly:

Unlike the previous three stats (Strength, Perception, and Endurance) Charisma is less involved in combat situations and more about preventing them in the first place. Your Charisma affects how you negotiate with others in bartering scenarios, your ability to convince people to take certain actions (or not), and even allows you to charm wild creatures into becoming your pals. While Charisma can certainly be avoided for those more of the mindset to shoot anything that looks menacing, it can get you out of dangerous situations you wouldn’t be able to fight through, and earn some nifty bargains for better items. This trailer’s just as silly as the previous entries in the series, so whether you’re new to the Vault or an old hat, this is an entertaining way to gear up and refresh your knowledge for the upcoming game.

Fallout 4 arrives on PC, PS4 and Xbox One on November 10th–meaning we’ll finish up the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. series about a week and a half before that.
