As we gear up for the holidays, so too will manufacturers of electronics and other expensive devices. Making them more affordable is always a great move when people are willing to throw down their hard earned cash the most, and Microsoft will be making it a lot easier to get an Xbox One this year. As announced on the Xbox Wire, starting on October 27th prospective Xbox One owners will be able to pick up a new bundle that comes with three desirable retail games, sure to make retailers and fans happy.

More from Microsoft

This new Xbox One bundle retails for $399 and comes with a 1 TB hard drive, plus three boxed-in games. Those titles are Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, Rare Replay and, most importantly, a physical disc (that prompts a full download on the Xbox Store) of Ori and the Blind Forest. We’re not talking about the first Xbox One games, here; these are all titles that were released for the platform this year, including two collections that came out in August. Furthermore, because of the backwards compatibility angle, the entire Xbox 360 series of Gears of War comes with the Ultimate Edition.

With Sony relying more on its third-party exclusive deals with Destiny and a lesser prominence on exclusives this year, the Xbox One will look to overtake the PS4 once again this holiday season, according to the NPD numbers. Honestly, it will be hard to find a deal where you get a 1 terabyte hard drive in a console, in addition to three boxed games. It will be interesting to see how, or if, Sony will react. A console war during the holidays can mean savings for the consumer, the sole benefit of the dubbed competition.
