SCEJA 2015: Yakuza 6 Announced, Yakuza 1 Remake Comes To PS4

To follow up on the tease from earlier this week, a new Yakuza game has been announced. It’s Yakuza 6, and it’s coming out in Japan sometime in Fall of 2016 for PS4-only. We didn’t get any footage of the game at SCEJA, just a fancy title card, but given the nature of past Yakuza games you can pretty well guess that a lot of people will get punched.

Given that we’re still not quite sure when Yakuza 5 will be coming to NA (sometime this fall, apparently), don’t expect to see number 6 here anytime soon. Hopefully it’ll head on over eventually as the Yakuza series gains more traction.

Another Japan release we’ll probably never see that is nonetheless intriguing is Yakuza Kiwami, a full remake of the original Yakuza for PS3/PS4, coming to Japan on January 21st, 2016. The trailer for this one looks fabulous:
