As the games industry’s games companies ramp up for the Holiday 2015 season, so too are the manufacturers of the games’ hardware. Xbox’s Major Nelson revealed today a brand new Xbox One Elite bundle that comes with a faster data storage drive and an Xbox One Elite controller.

Retailing at $499 USD, the Xbox One Elite bundle comes with an Xbox One console that contains a 1 TB SSHD. Not quite running as a solid state drive, this hybrid does run specific frequently-utilized files on a partition specifically running in a solid state, while the majority of gameplay, download and other data runs on a rotating disk hard drive. Additionally, it comes with the $149.99 Xbox One Elite controller that was announced during the E3 2015 Xbox briefing.

At the same time, Major Nelson also announced a GameStop-exclusive vanilla Xbox One controller. The faceplate is white, battery pack and top are black and it hosts gold-plated triggers and D-Pad. It retails at $64.99, and is not of the Pro Controller variety.

More from Microsoft

If there was ever a time for Microsoft to strike back at the market share for 8th generation consoles, it will certainly be during this year. The PS4, outside of ports of other PlayStation games, will be focused hard on 3rd-party offerings and having a stronger visual output on multiplatform games. The Xbox One has a host of exclusive titles this upcoming season, including Halo 5: Guardians, Forza Motorsport 6, Fable Legends and Below. By backing up exclusive software with multiple tears of alluring hardware, Sony could start to see a competitor build on their hands.

The Xbox One Elite bundle is currently scheduled for a November release.
