NHL 16 PS4 Bundle Coming Exclusively To Canada

There are certain expectations to hold when entering the world of gaming enthusiasm as a Canadian. Paying up to $80 for a brand new video game and missing out on certain savings or bundles are just par for the course. That changes today as the Marketing Director of PlayStation Canada, Rocco Calabrese, wrote on the PlayStation Blog today to announce an NHL 16 PS4 bundle exclusively to Canucks. No, not just Vancouver’s pro hockey players, I mean to all Canadians.

As you can see from above (but not explicitly mentioned anywhere else in the PlayStation Blog post), the NHL 16 PS4 bundle comes with a 500 GB model PS4 and a physical copy of EA Sports’ NHL 16. No longer featuring the terrible cover previously announced (for vastly more important reasons), Jonathan Toews remains as the sole cover athlete. The bundle costs just as much as a standard PS4 costs in Canada; $449. Considering the CAD stands at 0.76 USD as of press time, the bundle is not too shabby for a pre-Black Friday release.

Set to release on September 15, PlayStation is set to capitalize on Canadiana when it comes to their exclusive sports offerings. Previously with their PlayStation-exclusive MLB: The Show titles, Canadians had exclusive access to Toronto Blue Jays cover athletes Russell Martin and Brett Lawrie. Furthermore, even EA Sports has been getting into the Canadian-exclusive cover athlete game, pushing Canadian soccer hero Christine Sinclair alongside international soccer phenomena Lionel Messi for the Canadian cover of FIFA 16.
