Summer Games Done Quick 2015 Schedule Is Now Live
After a 4 month break from charitable speedrunning livestream action, Games Done Quick is getting set to return with their summer offering. That’s right, Summer Games Done Quick 2015 is set to kick off on Sunday, July 26th at 1 PM EDT, and the excitement starts now with the official, finalized schedule of games and their speedrunners.

For those who are unaware, Summer Games Done Quick 2015 is part of the Games Done Quick semi-annual video games speedrunning event, where many of the community’s greatest come together for a week straight to marathon video games at a rapid pace. Taking place in St. Paul, Minneapolis, organizers will be raffling off prizes, merchandise and games to be won, with all donations’ proceeds going to support Medecins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders). Furthermore, people can donate for run-specific incentives, including the infamous choice of whether to save the animals of Super Metroid (and kill possible world record pacing) or let them die to save time.
There is a solid variety of platforms coming to Summer Games Done Quick 2015, ranging from the NES, SNES, Genesis, Arcade, N64, GameCube, PS2, GBA, PSP, PC, Xbox 360, Wii, Wii Virtual Console, PS3, Xbox One, Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. The action starts with Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island, with Trihex hoping to capture the magic he brought to AGDQ 2014. Here’s hoping he keeps his shirt on this time, as well as hoping that the fire alarm doesn’t go off this time around!
Interesting enough, there are quite a few current-gen games that will get representation at Summer Games Done Quick 2015. The speedrun Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric will follow Yoshi’s Island, Ori and the Blind Forest will go up on early Wednesday, two more Wii U games will follow Ori, Halo 3 will be run using Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Majora’s Mask will be run using the 3D version and Dark Souls II will be coming in the final evening of the event.
Check out the full Summer Games Done Quick 2015 schedule here! It is currently scheduled to run from Sunday, July 26th at 1 PM EDT all the way through to Sunday, August 2nd at 8:35 AM EDT.
