Games Of The Year 2015, According To PlayStation Gamers

If there was ever any doubt in Sony’s multi-platform games strategy for the holidays, look no further than the PlayStation gamers.

It’s interesting to note the entire process of a video game company having their fans vote on which of their games they liked that released in the previous year. For example, the PlayStation Blog ran their own Game of the Year awards, running off of polls voted on by fans of the blog. Almost 600,000 votes in total were counted, representing a not-insignificant portion of the PlayStation family and their thoughts and intentions concerning PlayStation products.

Despite all the flak sites get for not giving Bloodborne a significant respect for Game of the Year, even PlayStation Blog fans don’t seem to value exclusives as highly as others. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt received the PlayStation 4 Game of the Year “Platinum” award, with Bloodborne following in second. Additionally, Yakuza 5 was beat out by Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain in the PlayStation 3 category, and Resident Evil: Revelations 2 and Shovel Knight beat out Persona 4: Dancing All Night in the PlayStation Vita category.

In fact, the only PlayStation console exclusive to win an award is Rocket League, and that game is roughly a month away from being released on the Xbox One. Even more remarkable is that Dark Souls 3 is the Most Anticipated game coming to PlayStation according to PlayStation Blog respondents (even if Uncharted 4 is disqualified for winning the same award last year).
