Dark Souls 3 PC Requirements Not Overtly Demanding

A good mix of PC players will be able to play Dark Souls 3 in some capacity.

In recent months, games development for PC versions of games primarily aimed for console game players have undergone some oddities. Nobody really knows why Star Wars: Battlefront demands 16 GB of RAM to run optimally, nor why Batman: Arkham Knight was released in a continuously broken state of play. That’s why it’s a relief to see that the Dark Souls 3 PC requirements for both minimum and recommended specifications reflect a larger collection of people, even if the storage space required remains in high demand.

Dark Souls 3 PC Requirements – Minimum

  • OS: Windows 7 SP1 64bit, Windows 8.1 64bit, Windows 10 64bit

As you can see, lower end graphics cards and CPU’s mean a larger group of players can meet those Dark Souls 3 PC requirements, although there are two things that stick out. The 8 GB RAM requirement looks to become pretty much a necessity for PC gaming going into 2016, now becoming a minimum and maximum requirement. Additionally, 50 GB of hard drive space allotted is a lot for any game, and will especially eat into smaller solid state drives currently slotted for other games.

With SSD’s overall continuing to drop in price, now might be the best time to upgrade in preparation for Dark Souls 3, which is currently scheduled for a PC, PS4 and Xbox One release on March 24, 2016.
