With a 10-year deal in place and about a month before the release of the newest chapter in the epic space saga, the thirst for Star Wars is real at EA. Even more so is the fans of the Battlefront series, as EA has announced that over its two beta periods between PC, PS4 and Xbox One, Star Wars Battlefront was accessed early by more than 9 million players.

“Yesterday, the Star Wars™ Battlefront™ beta surpassed a major milestone: more than nine million players logged in and played,” senior producer for Star Wars Battlefront Sigurlina Ingvarsdottir wrote on the EA news site. “That makes this the single largest beta in the history of EA. We could not be happier that so many of you wanted to come in to get a small taste of what our passionate team has been working on.

“On behalf of the team at DICE, and everyone at EA, thank you for playing. We hope you enjoyed what you played in the beta, which is just a small part of the overall experience.”

Considering that not even every single person interested in the game actually played the Star Wars Battlefront beta, having 9 million participants (with possible repeat players across all platforms) is a major achievement. It should also aid EA DICE into making matchups, maps, spawn locations and other balancing issues fairer when the game launches on November 17th on aforementioned platforms. It would be great to enjoy victory as the Rebels on Hoth for once, even if it isn’t canon.
