Gamescom 2015: Quantum Break’s Time-Bending Gameplay Looks Stunning
By Fraser G.
We knew it was coming, and Remedy Entertainment delivered, showing off brand new footage of their highly anticipated time-bending epic Quantum Break, today at gamescom 2015.
The video began with the unexpected cast reveal of Shawn Ashmore (X-Men), Aiden Gillen (Game Of Thrones), Dominic Monaghan (Lord Of The Rings) and Lance Riddick (The Wire). From there, we got a chance to see the frantic third person game in action as explosions littered the screen with color, before the time-bending mechanics of Quantum Break kicked in, slowing everything to a halt temporarily.

It all looked great, and each time altering sequence appeared to transition well, even if it wasn’t too obvious as to what was actually happening and why. Graphically, it’s shaping up to be one of the best Xbox One titles so far.
Sam Lake was also back to tell us more about the TV show aspect of Quantum Break, along with the aforementioned Shawn Ashmore, who made an appearance on the stage. We got a very brief teaser for the TV show, which was so short that it’s pointless to critique it at this point in time.
Finally, we’ve been given a release date. Yes, we know it’s been delayed multiple times, but this is an actual, concrete release date this time. All being well, Quantum Break will release exclusively for Xbox One on April 5th, 2016.
