Slightly Mad Studios have announced that Project CARS 2 is officially coming to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The announcement of a sequel may come as a surprise to some, as the first game in the series only hit the market last month.

Project CARS 2 will include the largest track roster ever, with 50 unique locations and over 200 courses. These tracks will also incorporate dynamic time of day and weather, and over 200 cars will be utilized within 8 different disciplines including Rallycross, Hillclimbs and Touge.

A new Co-op Career mode will be be implemented, and there will be multiple online feature additions including Pro eSports Racing, which will include online seasons, as well as broadcast and spectator functionality.

If you’re a PC gamer, you can get involved with the development of Project Cars 2 right away, as Slightly Mad Studios will be utilizing the same crowdfunding system that they used for the first game, with varying types of rewards for people who donate between £50 and £10,000. As an example, £50 will grant you a digital copy of the game when it releases, as well as some extra perks, and regular (usually daily) PC build access throughout development.

Yeah, it feels a little strange that we’re getting this announcement already, but Slightly Mad Studios will be keen to capitalize on the current buzz around Project CARS, and by starting the crowdfunding process now, they’ll hope to generate even more contributions than the first title managed to accumulate.

The first Project CARS game managed to hit one million sales within its first month, and despite a few small issues, we found it to be a great simulation racer.

If you want to get involved with the crowdfunding process, head over to the Project CARS 2 WMDPortal.
