Firstly, current WWE champion Seth Rollins will finally be playable without being constricted by his Shield gimmick, which was attached to his character in WWE 2K15, despite the fact that Seth had broken away from the group a few months prior to release.
The ever-popular Daniel Bryan will be back again, and so will the lunatic fringe, Dean Ambrose. Bad News Barrett is in, although it is not yet known as to whether he will be sporting his current King Barrett gimmick. Paige is the first WWE Diva to be announced, and this will be her first appearance in the main roster, appearing as DLC last year.
Finally, Finn Bálor of NXT fame will be making his debut in the series. The Irish superstar is riding high in WWE’s developmental system at the moment, and many fans will be eagerly anticipating 2K’s representation of Finn’s elaborate entrance.
2K have made it clear that the rest of the lineup will be announced in the coming weeks. Nothing has been announced yet, but it’s possible that we may see a dedicated event for the occasion, similar to the one that they hosted last year.
We recently came up with a feature wish-list for WWE 2K16, but we’ll need to wait a little longer to see if these come true, as 2K are keeping quiet on the game’s features for now.
WWE 2K16 will be available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3, on October 27th in the US.
