Project CARS Has Loads Of…Tracks, Actually

facebooktwitterreddit

When the title of your video game is Project CARS, there is a certain expectation to be delivering on the total vehicle front. I mean, it’s kind of expected in the title alone. Today, IGN has reported the final list of said vehicles, and the surprise comes from the fact that the game will be focused on track variety instead of vehicle variety.

Players of Project CARS will still be getting the W Motors Lykan HyperSport from Furious 7 on Day 1, but outside of that the list is remarkably slim. Thankfully, the game will sport 110 different courses contained in 30 different locations. The emphasis will be on providing different looks on the environment, even if it means you might be running into some of the same cars over and over again.

Still, announcements like this won’t go over well with just everyone. It bears repeating that Project CARS has been delayed not once, not twice, but thrice. Being stuck in the shop to be worked on for so long, anticipated fans will be clamoring for more and more content the longer a game such as this is delayed. Having roughly 24 different car manufacturers show off their vehicles in a game is rather low when compared to the competition.

Players will have to find out whether such an output can sustain itself when Project CARS is released on May 7th as a PC digital download. It will also be heading to PS4, Xbox One and PC in retail on May 12th in North America, while the Wii U and SteamOS versions do not have a release date at this time.
