Bravely Second Sequel, Bravely Third, Is Already A Possibility
Producer of Bravely Default and Bravely Second, Tomoya Asano, is apparently already working on plans for a third game in the Bravely series, Gematsu reports (translated from Famitsu). The game is tentatively called “Bravely Third.” Though not in development currently, Asano will submit a proposal if sales of Bravely Second are good enough.
From a translation of Famitsu:
"It might make you say ‘What?!’ given the timing, but I already have the concept for Bravely Third in me. If sales for [Bravely Second] are good enough, I’m planning to immediately submit a proposal. Please give me your support!"
Bravely Second comes out on Thursday, April 23rd, in Japan for Nintendo 3DS and is eagerly awaited after its predecessor, Bravely Default, sold over one million units worldwide. Most anticipate that Bravely Second will be localized at a later date, just as Bravely Default did, and given Default’s popularity in North America, it would be a poor choice not to bring it west.
The Bravely games tell the story of the kingdom of Luxendarc in traditional, Final Fantasy RPG style, but with some interesting twists such as a unique job system, battle commands that allow you to wait out turns to store up moves and then unleash them all at once later, and a main cast that isn’t at all what they seem to be. Bravely Second will feature many of the same perks that made Bravely Default so popular, with the addition of a plush-making mini-game, new characters, a choice-based job system, and up to 100 hours of gameplay if you try to do everything.
Here’s a look at the Japanese opening movie for Bravely Second, shown at the Japanese Nintendo Direct on April 1st:
