Halo Master Chief Collection Xbox One Bundle Costs $349 Now

It took close to four full months, but after a long journey and many misadventures through patching, Halo: The Master Chief Collection finally (mostly) works online. While seemingly unrelated to those events, the timing of an Xbox One bundle, with the games, at $349 so long after its initial launch in November of 2014 is a tad suspicious. Major Nelson has the details on his blog, where such a bundle that comes with a digital download voucher is now no longer exclusive to Walmart. It will now be available “worldwide (U.S. and select markets),” according to the good Major.

They state that the Xbox One bundle sale will begin in March, which is a smart move seeing how we’ve already got the ball rolling in that regard. Microsoft, however, has not made any announcements relating to when the sale will actually end. Because of this, it’s safe to say that the console bundle is a limited time offer, with supplies reflective of how the market will react. If people flock towards the Master Chief Collection bundle, more will likely be made. If not, then what’s available now is what we’ll get.

Returning back to those select markets, it appears Canada will also receive the bundle, albeit with two caveats. The first is that it will first be available in April, not March. The second is that the Master Chief Collection Xbox One bundle will cost $399 CAD when it does hit retailers. To those who believe they’re getting shortchanged here, remember that the CAD costs 80 US cents right now. The PS4 jumped to $449, while the Xbox One has stayed at $399. Video games now cost up to $75 brand new. Getting a $60 collection of Halo games as a bonus on top of the regular price is a fair tradeoff.
