Let’s Watch MLB Athletes Play MLB 15: The Show

As Spring Training heats up and the first player at-bats of the season take place, baseball is back. And, as such, that means that the PlayStation baseball simulation series is also creeping towards another release. To gauge just how fun it is to play, the developers at MLB 15: The Show took their game on the road down to Florida to let actual MLB athletes get their reps in with the DualShock 4 sticks.

Breaking down who exactly gets to play MLB 15: The Show this early, Dodgers OF Yasiel Puig, Royals 1B Eric Hosmer, Giants OF Hunter Pence, Blue Jays Catcher (and Canadian-retail cover athlete) Russell Martin, Pirates CF Andrew McCutchen, and Orioles OF Adam Jones all make an appearance. Comfortable in the laid-back confines of a tour bus, the players seem to like what they see with the new game. Adam Jones even went deep in his time with the game, while Pence may be upset with his lower-than-expected speed rating.

More from PlayStation 4

Just as it is with Spring Training for the athletes, this trailer is just a warm up as things get loose for the development staff of MLB 15: The Show. They’ve been working on this series for close to a decade over at SCE San Diego Studios, and with the jump to the PS4 this year the development cycle for this series will get easier, and additional gameplay innovations will look to be added or see a return. Perhaps the team finally nailed down online play to perfection? It’s been the only true gameplay aspect that has let me down since The Show series started on the PS2.

MLB 15: The Show will be released on the PS4, PS3 and PS Vita on March 31st.
