Remember when the Mad Max game was announced at E3 in 2013, right out of the blue? It was supposed to come out last year, until it was delayed after months of radio silence. The longer it took to develop the title, the less likely it seemed like the project was certain to be released. Today, as part of the Game Informer cover story for April, the developers at Avalanche Studios have revealed that the Mad Max game will be released on September 1st.
Interesting of note is that the game will be released on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. When it was first revealed almost 20 months ago, the Mad Max game also planned to release on the PS3 and Xbox 360. As time goes on, however, it makes sense that these platforms have ultimately been abandoned. Releasing in September 2015, there will be big enough of an install base on PS4 and Xbox One that the devs can focus purely on delivering a game with next-gen AI, physics, lighting and other gameplay designs without worrying to sacrifice performance to release in a wider PS3/Xbox 360 audience.
