PS4 Virtual Reality Headset To Launch In The Fall
By Vinny Lanni
A new virtual world for PS4 owners is coming in the form of PlayStation VR fall of 2016.
Update: A Sony representative called the GameStop release window “speculation.”
Original story: Previously slated for the first half of 2016, Sony’s PS4 virtual reality headset is prepping for a launch in the fall of 2016.
No price point has been announced yet, but GameStop CEO Paul Raines says Sony is hoping to hit its new target window and release the strongest lineup of VR games on the market.

“We are right now preparing for the launches of the major VR products, so we’re in discussions with Oculus, with HTC Vive and with Sony,” said Raines.
“Its a big launch, we’re getting ready for it, we will launch the Sony product this fall, and we are in discussions with the other two players.”
Once known as a gimmick to most gamers, PS4 VR is hoping to hit a home run and deliver a new catered experience to old and new audiences. Rains said the virtual reality market is a lucrative one, and he is expecting the realm of virtual reality to reach $80 billion dollars by 2025.
Sure, it is a little disappointing to hear PS4 VR get its initial “first half of the year” date get pushed back; sometimes a delay is good for some fine tuning and polish, especially for a new often-criticized piece of hardware.
PlayStation VR is a way away but we’ll have to wait for more news in the upcoming months.
