Activision finally reveals the upcoming TMNT game after weeks upon weeks of leaks.

There’s yet another Michael-Bay-produced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie coming out this year, so the dukes of licensed games, Activision, will look to have a franchise tie-in game ready to follow in tow. We knew this was coming for weeks, but finally Activision has announced TMNT: Mutants in Manhattan, developed by Platinum Games in conjunction with Nickelodeon. It is headed for the PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360. The announcement comes with a trailer that convinces even the most cynical that there’s something exciting brewing, here.

The video went up last night, portraying a grim, more mature version of Shredder than one might expect. War is being waged on the streets of Manhattan, and only the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles can stop the oncoming ninja and anthropomorphic animal threats that face the great borough. Bebop, Rocksteady and other infamous TMNT baddies are set to appear, rocking sweet neon colors like it’s the 90’s all over again.

Amazon pre-orders are up for the PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of TMNT: Mutants In Manhattan, providing a few more tidbits about the upcoming game. For starters, September 21 is the official last day of Summer 2016 and not a Tuesday, meaning it should be a placeholder for the eventually-confirmed release date. Additionally, the game will come with an online 4-player co-op mode, allowing you to take down foes as the entire half-shelled unit. Bringing on a writer of the comics to craft the story can’t hurt, either.
