Here Are The Top PS4, PS3 & PS Vita Downloads Of 2015

Breaking down what sold the most on PS4, PS3 and PS Vita, digitally, last year in North America.

While the NPD results for 2015 dictate what sold the most at US retailers throughout the entirety of last year, it paints an incomplete picture. In addition to not including software bundled into hardware, it does not account for digital downloads of games. That’s why it’s fairly neat that the PlayStation Blog US has provided the PlayStation Store top downloads for PS4, PS3 and PS Vita in North America last year.

There are a fair number of surprises on that list. For one, Grand Theft Auto V outselling almost everything on PS4 and PS3, especially despite its September 2013 PS3 launch, is quite remarkable. The game just prints e-money! Speaking of, Minecraft: ____ Edition ranked in the Top 3 of the PS4, PS3 and PS Vita digital downloads last year, a testament to people’s need to make things out of cubes.

I’m impressed that Sony thought of even including data for add-on sales, which saw Destiny: The Taken King outperform the rest of the PS4’s DLC offerings. One DLC pack from Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (Havoc) coming in second is surprising, in addition to MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited’s ESO Plus subscription ranking so high at #3.
