Below No Longer Releasing In 2015
Considering how late in the year it is, the announcement of a Below release date for next year makes sense.
It seems like it’s been forever since we first heard about Below. Capybara Games have been working on the title for years, even before its announcement at the E3 2013 Microsoft Press Conference. It was this time last year that Below’s initial 2015 release window was pushed into 2016, and history looks to repeat itself this year. Upon Game Informer’s request for information about the status of Below, Capybara Games’ Co-founder & president Nathan Vella confirmed the inevitable.
“Below is indeed coming in 2016,” Nathan said. “Past that I can’t share much, yet. We’ll certainly have a lot more content to show and news to share in the new year.”

It’s a damn shame, because Below seems to be so much different than what Capy usually produces. This is the studio that developed Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes on Nintendo DS and, more notably, Super Time Force for Xbox, Sony and PC platforms, yet the artistry going into Below speaks of something else.
A roguelike-like system with a tilted view of the player from high above is complemented with a randomly generated world that leaves and breaths similar to that of Scottish Highlands is an interesting gameplay take. With combat systems that punish players for hasty, thoughtless mistakes, perhaps it is better for the end product of Below that the game’s lengthy development process will be extended into yet another year. Hopefully, that extension doesn’t go on for too long.
Below is currently scheduled for a release on both PC and Xbox One.
