Rock Band 4 Adds Fallout 4 Costumes To Character Creation

There has been a lot of praise and criticism pouring out of the release of Fallout 4. For better or for worse, it’s the one game that most everyone is talking about; the title capturing everyone’s attention. It only makes sense that other games, especially those not competing in the same genre or release window, try to capitalize on Fallout’s success. That’s why it’s not that odd that Rock Band 4 will be added Vault 111 costumes in an upcoming content update.

As revealed in a trailer, on December 8th Rock Band 4 will be getting a free content update for all users. In addition to how leaderboards for song scores work, plus additional gameplay options being added, each user will get access to the “Fallout 4 Official Vault Suit.” The description says, “Rock out in post-nuclear style! Note: Suit provides no protection against radiation, and any liability cannot be held against Vault-Tec Industries or its subsidiaries.”

While it’s just a bit of fun and games likely planned well in advance of the release of Fallout 4, it does set up an opportunity for Rock Band 4 to start offering character customization options for various different types of video games. I would imagine EA wouldn’t loosen their tight grip on their current exclusivity rights, but imagine a Star Wars set of costumes for Battlefront or future games? Perhaps we could see some platform-exclusive things like Sunset Overdrive costumes for Xbox One and Ratchet & Clank for PS4?

Perhaps negotiating the ongoing rights for the impressive Rock Band 4 song catalog might be a bit more important than that, but at least the Fallout 4 costumes are pretty neat.
