Game of Thrones Telltale Finale Launches Tomorrow

For what may be a Telltale Games first since they first became integrated with the mainstream gaming populace with The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series’ season finale will be launched on multiple platforms at once. That’s right, to go alongside the North American physical release of Game of Thrones on PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360, Telltale will be releasing Episode 6, “The Ice Dragon,” on the aforementioned platforms plus iOS and Android-based devices internationally. The physical release will come to Europe on November 20th.

To celebrate the finale of what has been a year-long effort, Telltale Games has released a launch trailer for the Game of Thrones finale, containing spoilers about the choices players had to make between episodes 1 – 5. The trailer warns you of this before showing it off, but it bears repeating here. It goes through the stats of which players chose in the major decisions, including a startling 92% for one no-brainer. Better yet was a major character-defining move that was split nearly down the middle, at 51% and 49%, respectively.

The trailer ends with a brief glimpse into the final episode of Game of Thrones, which promises to be more supernatural and more warlike than before. There are few places to go, but hopefully Telltale sticks true to the “choose how it ends” promise it gives in the trailer. The redeeming aspect of a very poor The Walking Dead Season 2 finale was in the multitude of options and the presented endings therein, making up for a dreadful journey towards the conclusion(s).
