This week belongs to Fallout 4 and Rise of the Tomb Raider, but starting November 17th Star Wars makes its return to the video game medium for the first time in a long while. Star Wars Battlefront is coming out on November 17th, and what better way to remind the general populace than with a live action trailer featuring the wonderful Anna Kendrick? I can’t name one!

One of the more iconic moments in the Star Wars films is (spoiler alert for a movie almost 40 years old) when Obi-Wan Kenobi faces off against his old apprentice, Darth Vader. Knowing he is likely to be defeated, he proclaims to Vader that, “If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.” After getting struck with a lightsaber, Obi-Wan vanishes from his robes in an instant and becomes one with the force.

This Star Wars Battlefront trailer carries the spirit of that moment in a weird way, implying that men, women, children and even celebrities vanishing in an instant from their everyday lives. They awaken as soldiers on opposing sides of major Star Wars Battlefront conflicts, including on Hoth, Jakku, Endor and Tatooine.

Personally, the decision to imply that a bunch of people die in the real world in order to become pawns of the Empire and the Rebellion (or First Order and Resistance for Star Wars: The Force Awakens) as stormtroopers and rebel soldiers seems like a shortsighted one. I mean, yeah, if you were coming back as Han Solo, Luke, Leia, Bobba Fett or Darth Vader, that would be cool. However, being a faceless number in part of a large-scale war appears to be a rougher life than the mundanity of our regular lives.

Star Wars Battlefront will launch for the PS4, Xbox One and PC on November 17th.
