If you’re wondering what all the hype is all about, Battleborn is being developed by the minds behind the critically acclaimed Borderlands series, as Gearbox Software begin a new direction with their first-person shooter which appears to resemble a number of MOBA-style elements.
This news was delivered via the Sony press conference at Paris Games Week, where we also got a sneak peek at the game via a new trailer. In the video, we were presented with a short synopsis of the game, before it delved into the various multiplayer game modes that will available, including Incursion and Meltdown modes. The game’s visual style is filled with color, along with vibrant characters and an action-packed warzone. It’s reminiscent of Borderlands in this way, even if Battleborn’s locations are very different to the world of Pandora.
Battleborn will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on February 9, 2016. Details about the game’s open beta are yet to be released, but access to the game’s first Technical Test period will be available on October 29th to a selected few who have requested access.
