Wolfenstein: The New Order Sequel Might Be Coming In 2017

Whether it be the leak of internal documents, “press sneaks” that go snooping around page elements or someone just speaking out of turn, months-early accidental reveals of video games always have interesting stories. The latest comes from the voice and mo-cap actress for Anya Oliwa in Wolfenstein: The New Order, telling Polish television station TVN that she’s working on the sequel to a video game she’s already been a part of.

As translated and noted by GamePressure, actress Alicja Bachleda-Curus has only worked on one video game in her career: Wolfenstein: The New Order. When asked if there were any professional challenges facing her in the future (apart from the movie of which they were on set for), her response: “Yes, I’m still working on a computer game; I already did the first part, now we’re working on the second one, and it will take roughly two years.” She then confirmed she was working on the project in the US.

There’s quite literally nothing else to suggest that the project isn’t Wolfenstein: The New Order, but I’m sure Bethesda wouldn’t want some sort of announcement for a sequel to just be dropped in an interview where both participants are speaking Polish. Either way, a 2017 release would be quite interesting for development, as it would be approaching the 4th years of both PS4 and Xbox One development. Imagining the advances in engineering for those pieces of hardware two years in the future like that brings tons of possibilities for what a sequel would look and play like.
