The Heroes of The Storm Americas Championship will take place September 19-20, giving teams a chance at a $100,000 prize pool and a spot at the World Championship. The eight competing teams from the Americas region will be playing in the Las Vegas Convention Center with the event streamed live on Twitch beginning at 10 a.m. PT.

Only two of these teams will emerge this weekend to continue forward to BlizzCon 2015:

Even if you don’t have a team to root for, there’s still reason to care. The heroes and skins used in the final winning game of the Americas Championship will be discounted in the days following the event. You can also link your Battle.net account with Twitch starting today, and receive an exclusive portrait.

The Americas Championship is the final stop on the road to BlizzCon 2015, where the world champion will be crowned. The Blizzard-run convention will not only play host to World Championship for Heroes of The Storm, but each of their other competitive franchises: Hearthstone, Starcraft II, and World of Warcraft.

The two winners from this weekend will join six other teams from around the globe to battle it out during BlizzCon Opening Week on October 28 before taking the final stage at BlizzCon proper, which begins November 6.

This will be the first World Championship for Heroes of The Storm since releasing back in June. With new heroes and battlegrounds to choose from, filthy casuals like me will have plenty to learn from these pros.
