Minecraft: Story Mode Episode 1 Launches In October
As Telltale Games winds down their Game of Thrones and Tales From The Borderlands episodic series’, the Fall 2015 season begins to breathe life into another. The episodic adventure gaming company has announced today that Minecraft: Story Mode Episode 1, “The Order of the Stone,” will launch digitally on a worldwide basis first on Tuesday, October 13th. For the first time, the PC/MAC, PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360 will all receive a Telltale Games episode on the same day.

Additionally, the iOS and Android versions of Minecraft: Story Mode Episode 1 will launch on Thursday, October 15th. Interestingly enough, Telltale Games has also confirmed that not only will the PlayStation Vita receive a release sometime in the future, but so will the Nintendo Wii U. Not only could it be the first Telltale Games release on a Nintendo platform, but it could be the first Minecraft release, as well. For a fan base that has been clamoring to use the Wii U GamePad for what would be a perfect use, this is brilliant irony!
Furthermore, for those that wish to buy a physical version of Minecraft: Story Mode, the game will launch at retailers, with Episode 1 on the disk, on October 30th. The version will be coming to PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360, and will require you to download episodes 2-5 as they are released.
Despite a negative feedback online in promotional Minecraft videos, the idea of Minecraft: Story Mode seems intriguing enough. Not only does the whole “crafting in an adventure game” seem like a novel idea, the voice acting cast is phenomenal. Patton Oswalt as male Jesse, Catherine Taber as female Jesse, Brian Posehn, Ashley Johnson, Scott Porter, Martha Plimpton, Dave Fennoy, Corey Feldman, Billy West, and Paul Reubens are all involved with the series, bringing legit film and television actors of the past and present to bring life to an important games franchise.
