NBA 2K16 Shows Off First Teaser For Spike Lee Directed MyCareer Mode

NBA 2K16 has been  a bit mum on the length and depth of the involvement of Spike Lee in the creation of their new MyCareer Mode: Livin’ Da Dream. They have asked you to “Be The Story” in this year’s installment, but we did not have as much of an introduction into what that would mean.

Here comes the above trailer to break some of it down. The dream, the euphoria, the pain, the intrigue, the interactions with other players, the paranoia, and the flash of being an NBA star is all on display in this short teaser. The star’s name, as we already knew, was Frequency Vibrations.

The role of the player’s family, agent, and a close circle of advisers seems to be much more prominent in the game than it has been in previous entries. There even seems to be some off the court drama within the inner circle to drive the narrative.

This is a bit of a big departure from the usual offerings of NBA 2K16, wherein the interactions with others and agents is more or less benign. They gave you rivals, but you rarely would get into bouts with as much emotion as what is on display in the trailer above.

I cannot wait to see more of what NBA 2K16 will offer in this single player career mode. I hope it is as intense as it sounds from the trailer.

NBA 2K16 release September 29th, 2015 for PC,PS3, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox 360.
