PSA: Don’t Bring Quiet On These Phantom Pain Missions!

facebooktwitterreddit

Konami has been made aware of a serious file save bug that involves the use of Quiet on Missions 29 and 42 of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. It has been signified that the game “stops progress” if you have her as a buddy during those missions. While they work on a hotfix to solve this problem, they are advising players avoid bringing her on those missions until they give the all clear. This much has been told through their Twitter account, where it was first noted.

As the pair of tweets say (which have been shared throughout all of Konami’s various Twitter accounts internationally), the problem affects the Steam, PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, meaning no platform is safe.

Of course the hope that this problem is fixed soon, but Konami has already addressed fans outside of just their social media platforms. In an effort to beat the game as quickly as possible, there are some within the gaming community who have essentially shut out such platforms in order to focus on the dozens upon dozens of hours of content that awaits them. As of press time, booting up Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain in online mode brings up these issues as the very first message shown. Although some may skip it, this action shows humility in Konami acknowledging said problems head on.

We’ll let you know when these problems have been fixed. Meanwhile, enjoying Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain without using Quiet during those missions appears to be the safe option. My review of the game will come later in the month.
