Sony has announced PS4 System Update 3.0, which is codenamed Kenshin. Take a look at the official report on features here.

Here are some quick highlights and personal notes from the article. This first highlight is a personal favorite of mine:

"Online storage capacity increase— PS4 online storage capacity has increased from 1GB to 10GB for all PS Plus members. In 3.00 system software, you’ll see that we added a handy usage meter to monitor your available storage capacity, and a new Auto-Upload menu has been added to Application Saved Data Management."

Everyone please stay seated and don’t get too excited. If you like me are a gamer, who likes playing games, and owns many of them, you no longer have to manage your cloud storage! 10 gb is an awesome amount of space. This is definitely a feature I have wanted for some time as the transition to PS4 has caused a bit of a headache with much larger save files filling up the space on my cloud storage really quickly.

"YouTube live— PS4 owners will be able to live stream gameplay to YouTube. Live streams will be viewable across YouTube, including on the new YouTube Gaming mobile app and website."

More streaming options are never a bad thing. The question is will this also be a place to watch streams or will that still be in Live On Playstation.

"Sharing video clips to Twitter— Users will have the ability to share video clips directly to Twitter. Maximum video length is 10 seconds, though you’ll have the ability to trim longer clips."

This is not something I was looking for, but it is definitely something I may actually use. It will be interesting to see  how they add this functionality and if it will be as good as the snapshot upload feature.

"Communities— PS4 users will have the ability to create communities based around shared interests, like games, genres, and more. Communities include a message board with general discussion, screenshots shared by players, and the ability to join parties / games. If you want to tackle a big multiplayer raid, but don’t have enough friends available, this could be a great way to connect with other players who are looking for the same thing."

This will also be a great addition that I was not actually seeking out. I have a lot of different people I talk to online and to create a community group to play games we all have would be awesome.

These are my personal highlights. The rest of them are listed on the PlayStation Blog.

We will have a full review of the update when it is released, until then lets hope the beta bears fruit and we can take advantage of the features relatively soon.
