Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 Characters Are An Eclectic Bunch

We’re roughly a month away from the release of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5, so now’s as good a time as any to catch up on just who exactly we’ll be playing as. With the notable exception of the namesake character, there are some familiar names, a bevy of new faces and a stark reminder that time makes fools of us all.

Interspliced with gameplay footage, this new trailer shows hints of what to expect from the gameplay. For example, each character can accumulate 128 stat points, while tasked with 75 amateur/pro-level missions and 110 “sick” mission to complete. Additionally, each character has a special trick for a grind, manual, flip and grab move each, bringing flair and individuality to how each will play in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5.

The group of skaters, themselves, are what you’d expect from a group of people paid to skateboard for a living. Rocking out branded gear, talking about how they loved the game as a kid and the excitement of being in the game now, plus inexplicably laughing at nothing to end their chat segment are common themes for each skater profile. Plus, with Riley Hawk (Tony Hawk’s son) now old enough to be featured as a skater that earned his way into Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 off his talent alone, it’s really true that series has been around long enough to resonate with many skaters in their adolescence.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 is headed for the PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360 on September 29.
