It’s been an exciting, action-packed weekend for wrestling fans, but amidst all the chaos, 2K have been treating us to a wealth of new footage for WWE 2K16. Additionally, the latest edition of the weekly roster reveal adds another 18 WWE Superstars to the list.

The new footage has surfaced from a recent 2K press event, providing an extended look at multiple elements of gameplay, including the new pin system, new rope breaks, and new moves. We’ve also been treated to a small snippet of the game’s Showcase Mode, which focuses on the career of Stone Cold Steve Austin. In the new clip, Austin’s battle with Jake Roberts from King Of The Ring 1996 is featured, including an authentic set design, commentary from JR, and footage from the actual event.

In terms of gameplay, move transitions appear smoother than last year, and new moves such as Kevin Owens’ Pop-Up Powerbomb look great. The footage was short, but it’s looking good so far.

IGN have also provided us with their weekly dose of WWE 2K16 roster reveals, with 18 new additions to the list.

Some of the obvious, main roster inclusions are Randy Orton, The Miz, Cesaro, Tyson Kidd, Big Show, Darren Young, Dolph Ziggler, Sheamus and Titus O’Neil. Alicia Fox, Cameron and Layla have also been added to the fleshed out Divas lineup this year, and new legends have been included in the form of DDP, Bam Bam Bigelow, Finlay, Kevin Nash and Lex Luger.

Although their announcement hasn’t yet been made official, new footage has also confirmed that NXT’s new Tag Team Champions – The Vaudevillians, will also be included in the game, along with their trademark black and white entrance.

With each passing week, I’m getting even more excited for WWE 2K16. The roster is shaping up to be the biggest and best lineup in the history of the series, and the new gameplay looks like it’s heading in the right direction.

Check out Tyson Kidd & Cesaro/The Vaudevillians entrances in the video below, as well as some new gameplay footage.
