Splatoon To Ask Decepticon Now, Or Autobot Now, In Splatfest

Splatoon Splatfests are fun events that split the core fanbase down the middle. Starting out with players picking between Team Cat and Team Philistin- sorry, I mean Team Dog, players get to show their love throughout special weekend or daily events and provide their voice to a conversation. Nintendo has taken the event to new heights by teaming up with Transformers for a special 24-hour event, asking players to represent either Team Autobots or Team Decepticons.

Running for 24 hours starting on August 28th at 9 PM PDT, Splatoon players will get to choose between the two warring mechanized factions while wearing specialized t-shirts. Here is what you will be wearing if you are on Team Autobots:

As cool as it is to see Nintendo embrace their weird side with this partnership with Hasbro for the Transformers inclusion, the timing seems very odd. Transformers 5, complete with Marky Mark Wahlberg and Peter Cullen (voice of Optimus Prime), is set for a 2017 release, and there doesn’t seem to be any major toy creations in their lineup set to be released. It just seems that Hasbro wanted to get Nintendo’s fans thinking about the franchise.

Splatoon is currently available exclusively for the Nintendo Wii U. The game has also enjoyed an extensive August update, so make sure to check it out if you already own the game.
