Supremacy Mode Revealed For Star Wars Battlefront

The latest game mode to be revealed for Star Wars Battlefront is Supremacy, featuring a huge battle across a variety of maps in which players must fight to gain access to control points.

Each team is tasked with gaining the most control points within each ten minute round, with five locations in which to do so. Each round will begin with both teams fighting for the fifth control point, located in the center of the map. Once this has been determined, players will be required to gain access to each control point in a set order.

EA have revealed that Supremacy will contain the largest fighting grounds in the game, with the ability to command ground troops, vehicles, and heroes and villains.

Despite DICE’s efforts to distance themselves from the Battlefield franchise, Lead Level Designer Dennis Brännvall admitted that Supremacy mode shares many similarities with Battlefield’s Conquest mode.

“Supremacy is a game mode that will excite fans of the Conquest mode from Battlefield. That said, we’ve made several tweaks to improve the formula. You will always spawn close to the action when you enter Supremacy, so you’ll never feel isolated from the fight. By focusing on one key point at a time, players not playing the objective and camping on a hill somewhere will be a rare sight.”

I’ll wait to see some footage before passing judgement, but Supremacy’s large maps and variety of ways in which to play are another exciting addition to EA’s highly anticipated title.  Next, I’d like to see some information about an exclusive mode dedicated to the heroes and villains of the game. I’m also still interested to see how lightsaber battles will work between two Jedi. Ideally it’ll be a fairly in-depth system, akin to the most recent entries in the Jedi Knight series.

Star Wars Battlefront will be available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on November 17, 2015.
