Dragon Quest XI Screenshots Look Stunning In UE4
Dragon Quest fans, prepare to gush. Scans have just been released from this week’s Shonen Jump for both the PS4 and 3DS versions of the upcoming Dragon Quest title, Dragon Quest XI: In Search of Departed Time. And they look amazing.
First, the 3DS screens. The less glamorous of the two, but nonetheless looking great: the 3DS version of Dragon Quest XI will feature old-school 2D graphics on the bottom screen, and 3DS-style graphics up top. The game will only play this way for the first part of the story, however. After a period of time, you will have to choose one or the other to play in, though you can switch back and forth at any time (presumably the other screen will be used for a menu or something).
And now, the good stuff. The PS4 version, in Unreal Engine 4, looks just stunning. Below we can see the field, a few views of a town, and a battle. The town looks especially fun, with all the areas you can see (including the high-up ones) accessible:
Dragon Quest XI is anticipated sometime in 2016 for both PS4 and Nintendo 3DS, with the possibility of a later release on the Nintendo NX.
