The pre-alpha footage on display was taken from a cut-down version of a full mission within the game. Fans of the first game will be pleased to hear that everything looks very familiar, but on a much larger scale.
The world appears to be much more defined and vibrant, and characters have ditched the cartoon look in favor of a realistic approach.
Gameplay is frantic and varied with the usual Parkour elements on display, mixed in with some hand-to-hand combat. Some of the more striking visuals included a sequence in which Faith spin-kicked her enemy through a glass window. No firearms on display here, this trailer was gun-free.
It all looks impressive, and we’ll see how it fares when we’ve got a controller in our hands. Not too long to wait for this one, as Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is set to release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on February 23, 2016.
