Gamescom 2015: Battlefront Continues To Impress With Fighter Squadron Mode
By Fraser G.
EA have been teasing us with the news that Star Wars Battlefront’s new Fighter Squadron mode would be revealed at gamescom 2015, and that’s exactly what happened earlier today during EA’s press conference. In a new video, we were introduced to a short clip of gameplay of a battle in-progress.

The mode will feature aerial battles for up to 20 players online, and AI ships will also be joining in the fight with you, so it’ll be guaranteed mayhem throughout.
Some of the vehicles that will be available in the mode include the iconic X-Wing and TIE Fighters, as well as the Millennium Falcon and even Boba Fett’s ship, Slave I.
We were also shown a very short clip, showcasing some of the environments that you’ll be able to explore in the full game, which concluded with a shot of Darth Vader approaching the screen, deflecting every blaster shot that came his way as he descended on the first-person camera, until the screen cut to black. Awesome.
Star Wars Battlefront has continued to impress with every bit of gameplay footage that we’ve seen so far. I think it’s fairly safe to say that not many people expected that the game would look this good, and now all that remains is to see whether it’ll translate into an entertaining gaming experience in November. I can’t wait for this.
