Hulk Hogan Won’t Be Included In WWE 2K16’s Roster
By Fraser G.
Unless you’ve had no access to the internet over the past week, you’ve probably heard that Hulk Hogan has been involved in a racism scandal which ultimately led to his release from World Wrestling Entertainment. His profile page was removed from WWE.com, all merchandise was pulled, and now 2K Games have confirmed that he will not appear in WWE 2K16.

Speaking to IGN, 2K provided a short statement explaining their decision. “We are highly respectful of the way that our partners choose to run their business and manage our partnerships accordingly. We can confirm that Hulk Hogan will not appear in WWE 2K16.”
It’s also being reported that the Hulk Hogan DLC from WWE 2K15 is no longer available to download, but it’ll still be available to those who already own it.
Considering the timing of the announcement, its highly likely that Hulk Hogan’s character design will have been close to completion for its inclusion in 2K16, although no footage has been revealed as of yet. WWE have been ruthless in removing all references to Hogan over the last few days, so don’t expect him to appear in any WWE related material for the foreseeable future.
We still don’t know many details about WWE 2K16. It didn’t appear on the show floor at E3, so it’ll be interesting to see if it’s featured at the upcoming Gamescom event in Germany. We only know of 6 playable characters in the game so far, but it should be noted that the full roster reveal for WWE 2K15 was held last year at Summerslam Confidential, so hopefully we’ll hear something within the next few weeks as we approach this year’s WWE Summerslam event on August 23rd.
WWE 2K16 will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on October 27th, 2015.
