Finally, after more than 2 months of waiting between the last episode and today, we finally have a release date for Life Is Strange Episode 4. Titled “Dark Room,” Max and others will be back for more episodic, time-manipulating adventures starting July 28th on consoles and PC. To celebrate finally closing the gap that extended beyond the promised 6-week release windows, Dontnod and Square Enix have released a trailer, highlighting what we can expect.

Picking up after the events of “Chaos Theory,” Life Is Strange is now put into an odd position. To avoid spoilers, a monumental story event occurred that will shape not only the interpersonal relationships of the story, but may muddy the waters in the storytelling of Life Is Strange. As we inch closer to the endgame, the trailer suggests that all life as we know it is coming to an end, and we’re not just talking about the “End of the World” Vortex Club party that seems to be really bouncin’. No, it’s the beached marine life, dual moons and inclement weather that show the prophetic storm to wipe out Arcadia Bay is rapidly approaching.

The news coming out of DontNod is a bit cheerier, as Life Is Strange has brought them more than one million sales ahead of two episodes left to release. Considering a not-insignificant amount of people play season-long episodic adventure games after the season is over, there’s still a huge potential for the series to dip into multi-million territory. They’re quite deserving, as it has taken the genre into new places with its game mechanics where others have stagnated with non-adventurous, linearly-structured, show-not-engage “gameplay.

Life Is Strange Episode 4, “Dark Room,” will be released for the PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360.
