Justin announced the news on the Operation Sports forums, in addition to confirming that the game will be receiving free content updates after release.
This isn’t the first EA Sports game in their recent lineup which has ditched the yearly release schedule. We haven’t seen anything from EA’s UFC series this year, and nothing has been mentioned about a potential release in the future.
Justin Patel’s comment was made in response to worries about the lack of content in Rory McIlroy PGA Tour. It will ship with 8 courses and 12 golfers on day one, but in addition to the free updates post-release, he was keen to ensure that the team were “very excited about what what we are going to be able to provide users of this game”.
Remember, if you’re an Xbox One owner, you can get your hands on the full game for ten hours as of next Thursday (July 9th), through the EA Access program.
The full game will be available for purchase on July 14th for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
