NIS Hints At Unconventional New RPG
NIS has a new website up, hinting at an upcoming new RPG with an unconventional idea:
If your Japanese is a little rusty, Gematsu provides a useful translation: “In an RPG, imagine the world after the hero defeats the last boss.” No more info than that, but look at the URL on the website. July 9, 2015. Probably when the game will be fully revealed?
NIS has been responsible for hits as the Disgaea series, and NIS America has published several great RPGs in the west including series entries in Ar Tonelico, Atelier Iris, Mana Khemia, Etrian Odyssey, Shin Megami Tensei. They are also responsible for the publication of the upcoming Rodea the Sky Soldier.
Most, if not all, of these games are known for being colorful, with gorgeous soundtracks and unique storylines. Given their success in the west, hopefully we’ll see a new RPG with the strengths of NIS’s other work coupled with a fun twist on the usual RPG formulae.
