E3 2015: Yo-kai Watch Releases This Holiday In The US

It was already announced previously for a release next year, but during today’s E3 2015 Nintendo Direct event, it was confirmed in an English gameplay trailer that we will get Yo-Kai Watch on the Nintendo 3DS.

From the trailer, we can see our hero meet the Yo-Kai ghost Whisper, who will help guide the adventure of this very childlike, Pokemon-esque RPG based in the real world. Using your Yo-Kai watch, you can see both good and bad Yo-Kai creatures around town, usually up to mischief. Using a Yo-Kai lens, you can find some possible new friends hidden under objects, including vehicles like cars and trucks. The act of adding them to your Yo-Kai Watch works as if you’re “catching” them for later help.

What’s cool about these creatures is that they’re not strictly acting like knockoff pocket monsters. Some are cat-like, some are ghostly, some are monstrous, but some you can imagine finding them in an Animal Crossing title. You gain the help of your Yo-Kai to aid the citizens of Springdale, with our protagonist ever being the good samaritan.
