E3 2015: Creators Of Amnesia Remind Us Of Soma

facebooktwitterreddit

We’ve known that Frictional Games, the creators of the utterly-terrifying Amnesia, have had a game called

Soma

in the works for a long time–since 2010. At this evening’s PC Gaming Show, a short trailer was shown along with a reminder of the official release date. Soma will come out on September 22, 2015 for PC via Steam, and PS4. Here’s the trailer:

Soma is a horror game that takes place at an underwater research facility full of machines that are becoming disturbingly….humanoid. There’s some pretty terrifying creatures that will pop out to scare you, too. It’ll be pretty hard to top the utter terror that is Amnesia, but if anyone can do it, it’ll be the same developers. From their website, a description of the game:

"The radio has gone silent on PATHOS-2. As isolation bears down on the staff of the remote research facility, strange things are happening.Machines are taking on human traits and alien constructions have started to interfere with routine. The world around them is turning into a nightmare. The only way out is to do something unimaginable."
