Xbox Game Preview is simple in its description. You know about Steam Early Access, correct? If not, it’s essentially where PC titles on Valve’s service platform soft launch while still in development, allowing community feedback to fuel development decisions. Xbox Game Preview is essentially the same thing, but on Xbox One. Better yet, it comes with a free trial, meaning you won’t get stuck paying for a broken game you won’t enjoy for months on end.
The Long Dark and Elite Dangerous will launch the Xbox Game Preview service later today, while Sheltered and Day Z will be available at a later date. Ion, the newest MMO game from Day Z creator Dean Hall, will also be coming to the Xbox Game Preview program sometime in the future.
