E3 2015: White Masks Are The Rainbow Six Siege Villains
Though they may seem to focus more on its tactical multiplayer combat, most shooter games these days carry a semblance of a story. Bringing depth to a single player campaign can save face for even the more disappointing online experiences. That’s why bringing in Angella Bassett to the Rainbow Six Siege campaign is a cool get for Ubisoft, who made the announcement during their Ubisoft E3 2015 Live Conference.
Playing the role of “Six,” a terrorist group named the White Masks has taken prominence around their world. Highly organized and willing to target groups or locations indiscriminately, it is Six who will be bringing back the Rainbow Six team together again. There doesn’t seem to be any explanation for why they’re attacking everyone around the world, but if it means interesting settings to play in and it’s explained later, the benefits outweigh any story motivation.

Even with a focus on “Six” and the story campaign, Terrohunt was announced to be making a return to Rainbow Six Siege. The live gameplay demo was excellent because it was, you know, actually a live gameplay demo. Yes, the players were hamming it up for the audience and probably had close to a God Mode going on, but it brought immediacy to the event. The frantic aspect of the unknown is always a benefit.
The Rainbow Six Siege Beta will launch on September 24, 2015, while the full game will launch for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One on October 13, 2015.
